THE FESTIVALLERS’ FESTIVAL

WE’RE ALL FAMILY HERE

WHO WE ARE

It all began in 2018, on the hottest weekend of the year, in a little field in Derbyshire…

Jesstival was born from the love and determination of some of the best people you could ever hope to meet. On that scorching weekend, they came together and worked their (probably literally stinking) socks off to create a marvel of a festival in memory of someone incredibly special—Jess Fairclough 💖

Jess was everywhere that weekend, her spirit woven and intertwined throughout the field like the wicker Daleks. Her presence was felt in the kindness of strangers sharing their time, money, and even their booze. It was in the giggles of giddy children picking up instruments for the first time and in the groans of despair as Rod told yet another dad joke. From the sound of people singing their hearts out (extremely off-key) at the silent disco to the crackle of the fire at Jessville as the sun set on a perfect day, Jess’s legacy was alive in every moment.

WHY WE DO IT

Founded by Jess’s parents and their band of seasoned festival-goers, Jesstival is a testament to the power of community and the enduring legacy of a remarkable young woman.

Jesstival is more than just a festival—it’s a living tribute to Jess Fairclough and her spirit of kindness, adventure, and joy. Every festival, we gather not just to celebrate her life but to continue her legacy of giving back. Proceeds from Jesstival support the Owen McVeigh Foundation, helping children and families affected by cancer, just as Jess was a big sister to everyone on the cancer ward.

But Jesstival isn’t just about the weekend itself—it’s about the community that makes it happen. Whether you’re riding a bike from Somerset to Swadlincote, donating your talents and time, or simply being there to share in the fun, every contribution is cherished.

“Be as good to each other as possible” — Jess Fairclough.
